mIRC is an excellent, highly configurable IRC client and one of the most popular.

mIRC offers full send and receive capabilities for DCC (direct client connection) files, colored text lines, aliases, remote commands, support for sound, an events handler, file servers and much more. It even includes an option to load your own backgrounds for virtually all windows.

New in this version: the ability to double-click directly on URLs to open a Web browser, new interface options that allow you to position the list of nicknames and pop-up menus under the toolbar buttons for quick access to your most used IRC servers.
