Aha-soft IconXP allows you to edit icons and customize the Windows desktop appearance. It supports the new icon format introduced in Windows XP (employs smooth transparency and other visual effects).

The program allows you to create and edit icons in either standard or custom sizes, with colour depths up to 32-bit True Colour with 8-bit alpha channel. Paint tools include: colour replacer, colour selector, spray can, pencil, brush, flood fill, text tool, line tool, rectangle, curve, ellipse and 3D frame.

Modifiers can also be used to apply colour gradients and chess fills. For Windows XP icons, you get to add cool drop shadow and smooth effects. IconXP supports ICO, BMP, JPEG, CUR, ANI, GIF, WMF, PNG, XPM, XBM, WBMP and Adobe Photoshop PSD file formats. You can import images from screen captures, export, and change colour palettes for icon images.

Other features give you the ability to change standard Windows and folder icons, colourise and save the icons Windows uses to display various objects, hide or change shortcut overlays, rebuild the icon cache and support for semitransparent PNG images.

This latest version includes support for Windows Vista Icons, the ability to draw smooth shapes and lines with antialiasing, new effects and new colour selection tools.
