AltoMP3 Maker extracts digital music from audio CDs and encodes them into MP3s, which enables you to make perfect copies of the original sound tracks as smaller sized MP3.

The program supports freedb, which lets you get the CD album, artist, track titles information over Internet. You can also submit your favourite CD's information to the freedb server to share with others music fans.

AltoMP3 Maker uses LAME MP3 encoder as default MP3 encode engine. LAME encoder is a freeware project which provides high compression speed and perfect sound quality, it supports VBR(Variable Bitrate) and many more features.

Support for full audio CD control functions is included, which makes AltoMP3 Maker also act as a freedb-aware audio CD player. AltoMP3 Maker can also make Ogg Vorbis files from Audio CD and wave files.
