Black Bird enables you to manage and manipulate large image file collections from digital cameras, scanners, and the web.

The program features one click renaming of image files, support for JPEG, BMP, TIFF, and PNG file formats, interactive compression of JPEG and TIFF files, interactive colour depth of JPEG, BMP, TIFF, and PNG files, and dual monitor support on computers with two monitors installed. You can sort image files into directories, resize and resample images, and crop, rotate and flip images.

Other features include colouring adjustments, TWAIN source scanner capture, easy comparison of the original image to the modified image, quick printing of images, user definable file associations, detailed image file information visible during processing and quick conversion of images from one supported format to another.
